Fable: The Jay and The Peacock

A Jay venturing into a yard where Peacocks used to walk, found there a number of feathers which had fallen from the Peacocks when they were moulting. He tied them all to his tail and strutted down towards the Peacocks. When he came near them they soon discovered the cheat, and striding up to him pecked at him and plucked away his borrowed plumes. So the Jay could do no better than go back to the other Jays, who had watched his behaviour from a distance; but they were equally annoyed with him, and told him:
"It is not only fine feathers that make fine birds."

First of all, do not try to be someone who you are not. ‘Don’t wear size 8th shoes if your foot is not big enough’. For example, if one person ditch his/her friends or families in order to pursue his/her desire of hanging out with ‘rich and famous’ people, but unfortunately when those people know of your true identity and they distance themselves from you. You might end up losing more than you gain.

On the other hand, do not look down upon on your own origin e.g. your family, your race, your traditions, your friends and your country. Some people might not accept you as who you really are but your closest family and friends will never distance themselves from you unless to choose to distance yourself from them in the first place.
